Chronic Allergic Rhinitis
Doctors may use the term “chronic allergic rhinitis” when symptoms of allergic rhinitis are present throughout the year.
Chronic allergic rhinitis may also be referred to as persistent or perennial allergic rhinitis. The condition may be further classified according to the severity of the symptoms of allergic rhinitis.
The allergens that are most likely associated with allergic rhinitis are: dust mites, animal dander, cockroaches, mold or other indoor allergens. Outdoor allergens are more likely when symptoms of allergic rhinitis are experienced seasonally.
However, people who suffer from chronic allergic rhinitis may have a number of allergies, both indoor and outdoor.
When symptoms are experienced in the spring, the allergens are usually tree pollens. Symptoms of allergic rhinitis that occur in the summer are typically caused by grass and weed pollens.
If symptoms of the condition are experienced in the late summer or fall, the culprit allergens are probably ragweed, tumbleweed, sage or other weed pollens. Those who suffer from chronic allergic rhinitis may be sensitive to some or all of these pollens.
Now, what are the symptoms themselves?
The common symptoms of allergic rhinitis include sneezing, itchy nose, ears, throat and itchy and/or watery eyes. People who suffer from chronic allergic rhinitis may be troubled by headaches, sinusitis and/or frequent sinus infections, as well as the common symptoms just mentioned.
Sneezing repeatedly upon awakening is one of the symptoms of allergic rhinitis and may be experienced by those who suffer from seasonal or chronic allergic rhinitis.
Although coughing is not usually associated with allergic rhinitis, post-nasal drip, which occurs when nasal fluids drain into the throat, may trigger coughing, because of the tickly, itchy effect.
Treatment for the symptoms of this condition varies depending on their severity. Even in cases of chronic allergic rhinitis, symptoms are considered mild if they do not interfere with sleep, work or school.
If the symptoms are mild, then over the counter medications, such as antihistamines, decongestants or eye drops may be effective. Many over the counter antihistamines cause drowsiness, however.
It is for this reason that those who suffer from chronic allergic rhinitis or moderate to severe seasonal symptoms may seek prescription medications including non-drowsy formulas of antihistamines or corticosteroid nasal sprays.
Allergy shots may be recommended for the treatment of chronic allergic rhinitis or for the control of severe symptoms.
Chronic versions of allergic rhinitis may lead to the development of asthma in some cases, particularly in children, and allergy shots are sometime chosen to avoid this possibility.
While the first choice for treating symptoms is to avoid known allergens, in some cases this is difficult or impossible, making allergy shots more desirable. Allergy shots may also be recommended if prescription medications cause unwanted side effects or are not effectively controlling symptoms.
Allergy shots work by allowing the body to become accustomed to allergens over time. However, be forewarned: the symptoms of allergic rhinitis may not be completely alleviated by allergy shots. Indeed, a reduction of the symptoms of allergic rhinitis may not be noticed for a full year and shots may be needed for three to five years.
Those who suffer chronically from allergic rhinitis and are allergic to a number of different things may need more shots than someone who is allergic to one thing or a group of related things. Before allergy shots can be used for the treatment of seasonal or chronic allergic rhinitis, skin tests must be performed to determine allergens.
There is evidence, both scientific and anecdotal, that mangosteen juice can relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis.
In addition, some people who have suffered from chronic rhinitis for years have experienced complete relief from symptoms after using mangosteen juice.

Most of us do not consider when we go out to eat at a restaurant or fast food place just how easy it is to pick up Hepatitis. Consider how serious this statement is. And before you attempt to shoot the messenger allow me to shed some light on this comment. You see in the United States we have so many illegal aliens or illegal immigrants working in food services and the food industry that it has become a very serious issue.
How so you ask? Well simple really, we cannot screen anyone who sneaks over border and even for those who come legally with work passes no-one checks them for such diseases. Hepatitis is very common in third world countries and extremely common in Mexico too. So, next time you want to go out to eat maybe you might consider the legitimate nature of those who are running the place? Do they or do they not run a tight ship? Do they hire illegal aliens? How do you know things are completely sanitary and are you sure?
Without attempting to scare anyone here, it is important to re-consider your habits and to think about where you eat and where you go to partake in food consumption. Please think on this in 2006.

According to studies and surveys performed by the National Institutes of Health, many patients are unhappy with conventional Crohns disease treatment and more than half seek alternatives. Crohns disease symptoms are difficult to live with and affect the quality of a person’s life, so it is understandable that those who suffer from the condition would seek alternatives, when traditional therapies are ineffective or cause unwanted side effects.
Crohns disease treatment depends primarily on the severity of symptoms. Crohns disease symptoms may include abdominal pain, diarrhea, loss of appetite and weight loss. The primary Crohns disease symptoms may lead to complications including abscesses, ulceration of the deepest layers of the lining of the digestive tract or abnormal openings, called fistulas, in the intestine. There may be intestinal bleeding and that combined with recurrent diarrhea are Crohns disease symptoms that may lead to vitamin deficiencies, malnourishment and anemia.
Initially Crohns disease treatment may include an anti-diarrhea medication such as Imodium A-D, an over the counter product that is designed to stop diarrhea and reduce abdominal pain. When Crohns disease symptoms are moderate to mild, aminosalicylates or corticosteroids may be prescribed. If neither of these is effective or if stopping corticosteroids causes symptoms to return then Crohns disease treatment may include prescription medications that suppress the immune system.
The theory behind Crohns disease treatment plans to suppress the immune system stems from the fact that inflammation is present. Crohns and ulcerative colitis are known as inflammatory bowel diseases and the belief is that the immune system overreacts to bacteria that normally lives in the bowel and attacks it in the way that it would normally attack invading bacteria or infection. It is believed that Crohns disease symptoms may be caused by this dysfunction of the immune system, since inflammation is present, but not infection.
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, such as ibuprofen, are not normally included in Crohns disease treatment, because they have been linked in clinical studies to flare-ups and worsening of Crohns disease symptoms. Thus corticosteroids are the most common choice of Crohns disease treatment to control inflammation. Corticosteroids are not safe for long term Crohns disease treatment or for the treatment of any disease, because they have serious side effects including high blood pressure, osteoporosis and increased risk of infection. When used for extended periods of time, some people become steroid dependent, even though they become ineffective after long term use and Crohns disease symptoms return.
When a Crohns disease treatment plan includes medications to suppress the immune system and control inflammation in that way, there is a greater risk of infection. Obviously if the immune system is suppressed, it cannot fight infection effectively. In addition, there is a greater risk of cancer, because the immune system normally attacks and destroys abnormal cells that if left unchecked may eventually become cancer cells.
Aminosalicylates relieve Crohns disease symptoms in some cases, but cannot be used by certain people and may reduce white blood cell counts; once again, lowering a person’s resistance to other infections and diseases by impairing the immune system. Prescription medications for Crohns disease treatment are obviously lacking, both in effectiveness and safety. Scientists continue to research new drugs for Crohns disease treatment.
When Crohns disease symptoms are severe, surgery may be recommended to remove the affected portions of the bowel. This choice for Crohns disease treatment is extreme and is understandably avoided by most patients. However, those who have had surgery no longer suffer from Crohns disease symptoms. There are numerous support groups both for people who are considering surgery for Crohns disease treatment and for those who have had surgery, since certain adjustments and lifestyle changes may be necessary at least initially. Most people who have had surgery for Crohns disease treatment report that they are able to lead normal lives and that the relief of Crohns disease symptoms has improved their quality of life.
A recent study (August, 2006) found that 52% of the time, Crohns disease treatment was inappropriate. This was a group of gastroenterologists, surgeons and general practitioners evaluating the prescribed Crohns disease treatment plans of their colleagues. For those who suffer from Crohns disease symptoms, this may be discouraging news. Many people choose self-treatment with aloe, slippery elm or other botanicals. While the effectiveness of these natural products has not been proven, there is evidence of traditional use as digestive aids, which suggests that they may be effective for Crohns disease treatment and the relief of Crohns disease symptoms.
Aloe, in particular, has been scientifically proven to be a natural anti-inflammatory. Many researchers, doctors and scientists believe that natural anti-inflammatories may be gentler to the body, safer overall and more effective, because they target several inflammatory responses; synthetic anti-inflammatories may target only one molecule. Natural anti-inflammatories do not hamper the immune system, as do prescription anti-inflammatories for Crohns disease treatment.
Relieving inflammation can relieve Crohns disease symptoms. While decisions about Crohns disease treatment are a personal choice, those who suffer from the disease should advise their doctor about natural products they are using, particularly when using prescription medications at the same time. Botanicals and herbals have been known to interact with prescription medications typically used in Crohns disease treatment. Diverticulitis and diverticulosis
A few years ago, I had a friend who told me that they had suffered for a long time with diverticulosis, and while I was sympathetic, I knew very little. I went to the library and found peer-reviewed research articles and I began taking notes. I will share a short, organized synopsis of the information that I found. I found that diverticulitis and diverticulosis are two words that mean about the same, just that diverticulosis refers to (the condition) and diverticulitis refers to (the inflammation).
What is diverticulosis?
Diverticulitis is inflammation of an abnormal pouch (diverticulum) in the intestinal wall, usually found in the large intestine (colon). The presence of the pouches themselves is called diverticulosis. While there is a lot of information available, there is still a good deal of confusion about diverticulosis and diverticulitis.
Overview, Causes, & Risk Factors
Small protruding sacs of the inner lining of the intestine (diverticulosis) can develop in any part of the intestine. They are most common in the colon. These sacs, called diverticula, occur with increasing frequency after the age of 40. When they become inflamed, the condition is known as diverticulitis.
Diverticulitis is an inflammatory condition where the area around the diverticula becomes irritated and attracts immune cells. It affects 10% to 20% of those with diverticula at some time. These areas can become infected. Risk factors are older age and history of diverticula or prior episodes of diverticulitis. You may be happy to learn that eating a high-fiber diet may prevent episodes.
Diverticulitis is infection/inflammation of the diverticuli. In other words, a person with diverticulosis may get diverticulitis when a stool gets caught in one or more of these “pockets,” and they become inflamed or infected. This typically causes fever, pain and tenderness in the abdomen. The two major signs of diverticular disease are bleeding and infection.
Diverticulitis usually clears up within a week with antibiotics and a liquid or soft diet, but may persist for much longer. (A soft diet includes anything that does not require a lot of chewing: soup, mashed potatoes, cooked or pureed vegetables, bananas, Jell-O and pudding fit this category.) After the acute infection clears up, patients should eat a high-fiber diet including nuts, seeds, whole grains, fruits and vegetables. They should drink plenty of fluids and avoid constipation at all costs, even if that requires taking Metamucil (psyllium seed) or other fiber products daily. Metamucil is good for you, and I found that it was not very expensive when I bought some at the store for my daily fiber intake. Hard stools or straining will cause more diverticuli to appear or the existing ones to enlarge.
Treatment
Everyone should eat a diet high in fiber, but especially people with diverticulosis. Nuts are a good source of fiber and protein. Although nuts contain fat, it is mostly unsaturated, the "good kind." Dietary fiber is found in plant foods. So eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Many doctors agree that eating high fiber foods is the ONLY treatment for diverticulosis. Fiber cannot be digested by humans. (It just passes straight through your digestive system, while gently cleaning your system.) Fiber has no calories because the body cannot absorb it, so it provides a feeling of fullness and adds bulk in the diet. This assists digestion and elimination.
While your diet is very important, I am not a doctor, and I want to urge you to call your health care provider if symptoms of diverticulitis occur, especially if your family has a history of colon cancer.
My friend that had diverticulosis found a new supplement that helped her more than anything else. that glyconutrients supplements (immune boosting cellular enhancement) and fiber were how she was able to completely get rid of diverticulosis.

The Alopecia areata are non infectious except can be hereditary. Alopecia areata has been predicted that some offspring are born by means of inherited alopecia areata. Severe Anxiety and Stress are not been confirmed as the vital factor, although this is yet doubtful.
The cure of the alopecia has unfinished success. More the loss of hair, the less victorious the treatment can be done. The Alopecia treatment is probable if it is treated in the former stages of the alopecia infection. The psychological consequences of alopecia may include anxiety, depression and stress and can be far more the cause of embracement when the hairs of eye lash and brows are all affected by the alopecia disease.
If the exaggerated region is little, it is capable of treatment and the difficulty often impetuously regresses and regains hair growth. Well, in the case of harsh hair loss, it has constrained success in treatment alopecia areata with the minoxidil, phototherapy and steroids.
